Eagle County Housing and Development Authority is Elevating our Community Through Mentorship and Housing Solutions
About Us
Established in 2008 through a unanimous resolution by the Eagle County Board of Commissioners (BoCC), the Eagle County Housing and Development Authority (ECHDA) was created to address the housing crisis identified in the 2007 Eagle County Housing Needs Assessment. This assessment revealed a significant lack of affordable housing options, impacting the community in several ways including the financial well-being of residents, commuting trends, housing affordability, and the evolving housing market in the County's rural-resort mountain communities.
Today, the Eagle County Housing and Development Authority, also known as Housing Eagle County, is dedicated to elevating the community through mentorship and housing solutions. We fulfill this commitment by actively engaging with the community, forming strategic partnerships with both the public and private sectors, and implementing a wide range of programs tailored to meet the needs of homebuyers, renters, and homeowners.
We recognize the unique challenges faced by residents and are committed to opening doors and bringing stability and opportunity to our community. This dedication is demonstrated through spearheading innovative housing projects, the management of affordable rental properties, prioritizing deed-restricted for-sale housing, facilitating rental and down payment assistance programs, and leading with a spirit of generosity.
We firmly believe that by "Housing Eagle County," we will build a stronger, healthier, more productive, and more resilient community that benefits everyone!
