Expanding Housing Opportunities at the CMC Edwards Campus

In 2022, the Eagle County Housing and Development Authority (ECHDA) partnered with Colorado Mountain College (CMC) to address the growing need for housing in Eagle County. Together, they constructed 72 modern housing units at the centrally located CMC Edwards Campus. The project consisted of two identical apartment buildings.

Building on this success, a third building, CMC Building 3, is already in progress and will bring even more housing opportunities to the community in 2026. More details below.

CMC Building 1

Building 1, officially named 160 Miller Ranch Road Apartments, was completed and placed in service in August 2023. It is currently fully occupied by CMC students, faculty, and staff. To determine eligibility and submit a housing application, prospective residents can refer to CMC's Preferred Qualifying Criteria and visit the Colorado Mountain College - Housing Initiative website.

CMC Building 2

Building 2, officially named 162 Miller Ranch Road Apartments, was placed in service in January 2024. This building is available to applicants who meet the criteria for Eligible Households as outlined in the Eagle County Affordable Housing Guidelines: Administrative Procedures. For more information, interested applicants can visit the official 162 Miller Ranch Road Apartments website. Each building features 36 thoughtfully designed studio and two-bedroom apartments, providing much-needed housing for CMC students, faculty, staff, and members of the Eagle County workforce.

CMC Building 3

Following the success of the first two buildings, ECHDA began planning a third building in 2024, CMC Building 3. This new addition will follow the same footprint as Buildings 1 and 2 but will include 30 units instead of 36, with a greater emphasis on two-bedroom apartments to better meet market demand.

The project is expected to reach key milestones in early 2026, when construction nears completion, and in spring 2026, when lease-up and move-ins begin. Once completed in late 2026, CMC Buidling 3 will add 30 new residential units to the community, including 18 two-bedroom apartments and 12 studio apartments.

The CMC Edwards Campus housing development offers an unbeatable location in the heart of Eagle County. Residents enjoy convenient access to the ECO Transit bus route, Battle Mountain High School, Freedom Park, and the Edwards Field House. The property is also close to schools, childcare services, dining, shopping, biking and hiking trails, and world-class skiing. This central location ensures that residents can easily balance work, education, and recreation, making it an ideal choice for students, faculty, and the local workforce.
